IDGAF About AI - But This Is Gonna Be MONEY
I found a usecase for AI yesterday that I’m absolutely delighted with.
I’m not a massive advocate of AI in writing.
But yesterday, I found a perfect use for it:
Sorting through the noise & look for signal.
For the last few years, I’ve used Discord to run my client communication.
Client copy gets delivered in Discord…
Any back-and-forth happens there…
Troubleshooting etc…
Sounds great. Until you’re sifting through about a billion pages to find social proof & hard data for your next campaign promo.
Then I had an idea…
I copy (click into the chat & hit cmd + A) & pasted each channel into a Google doc & exported it as a .txt file.
Then, I fed it to Poe (but I imagine any AI that you can upload a doc to would work) and asked it to sort through all that chat to find examples of social proof.
It did it AMAZINGLY well.
So now I had a distilled doc full of nice things that specific clients had said…
Next, I wanted a doc of ALL the comments EVERY client has ever said about that specific service – sorted by category.
Once I had that, I knew I could put together about a thousand campaigns based on the social proof I had, and target specific objections.
I could also look for trends, and see where I was missing a particular style of proof…
For example, clients on lower ticket services rarely report hard stats, and focus instead on how they feel vs clients on higher ticket services tend to report data more often.
But then I hit a snag: My highest ticket clients communicate with me on WhatsApp, not Discord.
And that’s a problem because there’s so much live problem-solving that it’s a massive amount of data for me to sort through (too much to even copy and paste).
I discovered something insanely valuable here:
You can export a WhatsApp chat too.
You click the chat name & scroll right to the bottom – there’s an “export chat” option.
I could then upload private conversations with my most long term clients who spend the most – and get the AI to do the same there.
This was a goldmine. It’s going to take me ages to go through all my clients – but once that’s done, it’s going to be an incredibly valuable document for planning campaigns.
What happened next helped give me incredible insight into my business & uncovered blind spots that will revolutionise how I run all future partnerships:
The AI asked if I wanted to write any sales copy based on the social proof we’d uncovered.
I said no…
But I would like help with analysing why – if people have got such nice things to say about the quality of the service, the ROI & the speed of fulfilment…
Why don’t they stay longer?
I wanted the AI to help me analyse why churn was happening in my business when I had all this proof the service was awesome.
It gave me an incredible insight into the language of being positioned as an employee or team member vs being their partner.
And now I have insight into how to improve my positioning, onboarding and boundaries that I otherwise wouldn’t have had.
(It also told me I needed to 3x my prices based on the support people are getting).
It’s given me an idea for a new service… which I may build in public based on this new way of getting feedback.
